Last night, I attended a Healthy Snack Workshop hosted by Lucy's Ladle. It was a fantastic experience where we learned some of her favorite recipes, including FLAPJACKS, PROTEIN BALLS, and STUFFED DATES. These became my personal favorites during the session.

Key Takeaways from the Workshop

The biggest takeaway for me from the workshop was these three essential points:

🤑 We can eat healthily on a budget.

Eating well doesn’t need to be expensive. With a little planning and creativity, healthy eating is accessible to everyone.

⏳ We can save time by cooking in bulk.

By preparing meals in bulk, we save time throughout the week. It’s a great strategy to ensure we always have healthy options ready to go.

👩🏻‍🍳 We can get creative in the kitchen if we try.

Cooking is an art, and experimenting with different ingredients can lead to exciting and tasty discoveries.

Recipe Sneak Peek

Thanks to Lucy, I'll be sharing one of my favorite recipes from the workshop in this Sunday’s newsletter. This is a great opportunity for those who missed out on the session. So, make sure you Subscribe FREE! to my email list if you want some inspiration too.

Why Healthy Snacking Matters

Healthy snacking is essential for maintaining energy levels throughout the day. It helps curb hunger and prevents overeating at main meals. Plus, it offers an ideal opportunity to incorporate more nutrients into our diets.

Fun Facts About Flapjacks

Flapjacks are not only delicious but also nutritious. Made primarily from oats, they are a fantastic source of fiber. This can help with digestion and keep you feeling full for longer. It's easy to customize flapjacks with various ingredients like nuts, seeds, or dried fruits.

How to Get Started

  1. Plan Your Snacks: Take time to consider what healthy snacks you enjoy. Create a list to help guide your purchases.

  2. Prep in Advance: Spend a weekend day preparing snacks for the week ahead. This could include making protein balls or preparing stuffed dates.

  3. Mix It Up: Don’t be afraid to try new recipes. Exploring different ingredients can keep your snacking exciting.

For now, I’m off to the fridge for another protein ball...

See you soon :)
