It is so easy to fall into what I call the Trap of Comparison, we are bombarded by messages and images of people who seemingly have what we want, that new house, that new job, lots of confidence etc...The list is endless but I am sure you get the idea.

Comparison in itself is not a problem, its the way you view it and use it. So next time you catch yourself comparing your life to another check in with yourself and ask whether this comparison is a healthy positive one or is it destructive and negative.
A heathy positive comparison is when you see what someone else has and use that as motivating and inspiring. An unhealthy comparison is when you view what someone else has but it conjures up feelings of insecurity, inadequacy, jealousy or envy.
If you feel yourself slipping into a state of negative comparison ask yourself what it is which is causing me to feel this way and what can I do instead so that I feel inspired.
Finally whatever it is you are looking to achieve, change or have in the future remember that your journey will be different to someone else's who has it already and therefore it is important that you "don't compare your beginning to someone else's middle" because we are all at different points on the journey.
