UNIQUELY YOU

"It's far easier to succeed when you know what works for you."

But have you ever stopped and asked yourself what works for me? Are you aware of what will make you more likely to succeed?

You may be looking to grow your confidence, to strive to have more calm and balance in your life or perhaps you are looking to have the courage to embark on a new direction.

Whatever you are looking to achieve or change, you can make it easier to succeed when you understand what works best for you.

We are all uniquely different, we all have our strengths, we have our challenges and our blind spots but when we work with our strengths we can help to overcome those challenges and put ourselves in the best place to succeed.

That's why I am a huge admirer of the work of Gretchen Rubin and her book The Four Tendencies where she explores this very subject and how people fall into one of four personality tendencies with regards to how we respond to expectations. She calls them the Obliger, the Questioner, the Upholder and the Rebel. She discusses how each personality tendency responds to expectations, whether they are external expectations such as attending a meeting or an internal expectation such as keeping a new years resolution. From understanding how we respond to expectations can reveal our strengths and what we find challenging. We can then harness our strengths and work in a way that will work for us.

I adore her work as it beautifully reflects what happens in a coaching session, we work with the individual drawing out the strengths they have, putting in a plan which will work for them and supporting them to overcome challenges so that they are in the best position to move forward with their lives.

Once you understand what makes you uniquely you, how to harness your strengths to overcome those challenges, then you can work with yourself to put you in the best position possible to make the changes you wish to see.

As Gretchen Rubin says "it's far easier to succeed when you know what works for you"
